   Birdsall House

---------------------------------------------------------------------

BAR WILL BE OPEN
THANKSGIVING AT 6PM
(kitchen will be closed)

"It’s all about the beer at Birdsall House, where folks go to soak up the down-home atmosphere, savor a few brewskis, and discover a new favorite one. The casual beer joint—which won this magazine’s 2010 Best of Westchester Award for New Beer Bar—offers a convivial drinking experience in a traditional tavern setting featuring the bar’s original, 1940 wooden booths. The unassuming atmosphere, emphasis on local craft selections, abundance of half-drafts, and exotic rarities have us returning time and again."

"Birdsall House may be my favorite bar in Westchester. The 20 expertly picked draft beers at this popular Peekskill spot always include something surprising and delicious, like the Dogfish Head Punkin served on a recent evening. A constantly changing lineup of 15 bottled beers (and special bourbons and whiskeys) is available as well (all beers are $6 to $8.50). Then there is the atmosphere: set in a respectfully renovated 1940s tavern, Birdsall is hip but not pretentious."

"Don’t ask for Stella, don’t ask for Bud: this is a serious beer bar for serious beer drinkers. Birdsall House’s Niagara Falls-like, 20-tap draft system specializes in local brews, with the vast majority of its beers sourced within a day’s drive. I.P.A., lager, pilsner, stout, ale, bock, lambic, weiss—you name it, they got it (and plenty more, besides). Even better, Birdsall House slings a sophisticated, beer-friendly menu, whose locavorian ingredients celebrate our region’s food as much as its beer."
